Furniture designs inspired by Scandinavian or retro styles very often feature flared chair legs, which form a pronounced angle with the floor. The use of traditional flat glides on this type of design causes very rapid asymmetrical wear, as the chair rests on only a tiny edge of the glide. To correct this structural imbalance, the inclined-base chair glide was developed. The main aim of this mechanism is to distribute the user’s weight evenly. By ensuring that the entire surface of the base touches the floor, you eliminate the extreme pressure points that cause deep scratches on wooden floors and indentations in soft vinyl flooring. The overall stability of the furniture is also greatly improved as a result, eliminating the unpleasant rocking effect often experienced with star-base chairs. The design of this component requires precision engineering, as the angle of the insert must correspond exactly to the inclination of your tubular profile or wooden leg.

Available in standard angles (generally between 10 and 25 degrees), these fixed glides are designed for designers of shell chairs, designer bar stools and lounge armchairs. They preserve the visual integrity of the design whilst ensuring flawless functionality in everyday use. When replacing or fitting for the first time, it is essential to carefully measure the angle of the supporting structure.
